MembershipAs a six-time national Chapter of the Year award winner, the Columbus Chapter of the National Black MBA Association believes strongly in developing innovative programming that challenges our members, business, education, and community partners to push beyond current realities to maximize the potential for success.

The National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) strives to be an organization that leads in the creation of economic and intellectual wealth for the African American community. We operate around the three cornerstones of Education, Employment, and Leadership. Our mission as a professional membership organization of individuals with MBAs, advanced degrees, and entrepreneurs, is to increase the number as well as the reach of successful African Americans in the business community by:

  • Providing innovative programs to stimulate intellectual and economic growth,
  • Building partnerships with key stakeholders who help facilitate this growth, and increasing awareness and facilitating access to graduate management education programs and career opportunities in management fields.

The Columbus Chapter hosted several career, professional development, and family events this year including the Abbott Career Connect, a Clippers Game at the new Huntington Park, a Networking Event in conjunction with other professional organizations, and our annual Resume Critique Workshop.

Membership Fee: $150.00 / Year

Associate Membership

NBMBAA® members who possess significant experience in business or entrepreneurship (No graduate degree required). Associate members receive job matching for professionals, a one-year subscription to Black Enterprise and Black MBA magazines, a discount at the annual conference & exposition after one full year of membership, and access to:

  • Resunate – a free online resume review service
  • Partner events and discounts.
  • Industry trends and thought leadership through webinars, articles and global business news.

Membership Fee: $150.00 / Year

Student Membership

NBMBAA® members who are enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program. Student members receive job matching for professionals, a one-year subscription to Black MBA magazine, a discount at the annual conference & exposition after one full year of membership, and access to:

  • Partner events and discounts.
  • Industry trends and thought leadership through webinars, articles and global business news.

Requirements:

  • All students must be actively enrolled in a college or university (undergraduate or graduate). Enrollment documentation is required during application process.

Membership Fee: $75.00 / Year

Lifetime Membership

Lifetime Membership status is granted to any member who makes the financial commitment to the full or associate lifetime status

The National Black MBA Association, Incorporated is a national organization that has an extensive network of 39 local chapters found in most major U.S. cities.

In addition, the National Black MBA Association, Inc. offers:

More than 5,000 business contacts through its national membership. Local networking through its 39 chapters.

Visibility and dialogue with major corporations.

A newly instituted Member Employee Network which will allow members in the organization access to hundreds of corporate opportunities throughout the United States.

A national newsletter providing news of National Black MBA Association, Inc. members and events.

Scholarships and special programs for undergraduate and graduate business students.

An annual five-day national conference, case competition, and career fair & exposition. Also during the conference, African-American leaders, entrepreneurs and students attend panels and workshops covering critical business issues, employment trends, global trends, economic policy and a host of other topics impacting African Americans.

Our career fair, which has been noted one of the world’s largest, consists of over 350 companies exhibiting career information and interviewing competitive candidates for executive and/or managerial positions.

Membership Fee: $1000 One-time or $350/year for three (3) years
