2017 Executive Board

President

Tamara Staley is employed with Takeda Pharmaceuticals America, Inc., a Japanese pharmaceutical company with a
presence in over 70 countries and regions including the United States. Tamara is a Senior Sales Representative and
promotes products from Takeda’s Diabetes and Gout franchise. She is a multi-Presidents Club award winner which
honors and recognizes top sales people in the company. She has held various leadership positions throughout her district and region and has coordinated numerous conferences and symposiums for health care providers.

Prior to Takeda, Tamara began her career at The Kroger Co., where she held various positions including Assistant Store Manager, Category Manager, Assistant Buyer and Human Resource Coordinator. During her time with The Kroger Co., Tamara served as the Vice President of the Minority Management Advisory Council (MMAC).

Tamara is a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association and has been a member since 2006. She also serves on the Executive Board for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Columbus (OH) Alumnae Chapter as 1st President. She is also a member of the United Way’s Women Leadership Council. Tamara previously served on Otterbein College’s Alumni Advisory Council and is very influential in the Otterbein College African American Alumni Network. She has been a part of many programs through the Office of Ethnic Diversity at Otterbein College and continues to volunteer her time in numerous community service projects throughout the city.

Tamara is originally from Lorain, Ohio. She received her undergraduate degree and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Otterbein College.

Jenese Bandy

Jenese Bandy is an operations expert and transitional leader having over 20 years of business operations and leadership experience. Employed by KPMG for the last 10 years, Jenese has experience in operations, facilities, project management, change management, administrative talent management, training, and employee development. In addition to leading people, focusing on improving business processes, and leading change, Jenese is involved in diversity and inclusion activity at KPMG, including leading the African-American Network.

Jenese is active in the community through organizations such as the National Black MBA Association, Columbus Urban League, Women for Economic Leadership and Development, United Way of Central Ohio’s Project Diversity program (Cycle 21) and Key Club, and an active Board member at Directions for Youth and Families.

Jenese holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. Jenese is an adjunct faculty member at Columbus State Community College teaching business and management courses and she is currently studying for a doctoral degree (Ed.D) in leadership and management at St. Thomas University, focusing on change management and leadership development.

Jenese is originally from Atlanta, Georgia but grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and relocated to Columbus in 2006. Jenese is married with three daughters and she and her husband enjoy traveling.

Focus: Born and raised in the “The Glass City.” Angela hails from Toledo, Ohio. She relocated to Columbus, Ohio after the September 11, 2001 attacks. The September 11th attacks was a reawakening for Angela; she realized how that could have been her that perished in the World Trade Center Towers. She felt that if she were there, she would have been gone to soon without achieving all of her goals in life. December 6, 2001 she moved to Columbus and has not looked back.

Currently, Angela works a Branch Manager with Huntington National Bank (HNB). A Columbus, Ohio based full service banking provider. Huntington National Bank operates primarily in the Midwest and as of Jan 25, 2017 is a $100 Billion asset regional bank holding company. At HNB, Angela is a mentor; which means she trains others for success in their role. She has received numerous awards, rewards and recognition for job, performance, and operational excellence.

Academically, Angela received the Jean Baxter and Keybank full ride scholarship, plus numerous other scholarships. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Toledo and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University.

Family: Angela is a newlywed and married the love of her life Jeffrey at the Ritz Carlton in beautiful San Juan, Puerto Rico. They have a blended family of two adult children; Brett and Thailyn (pronounced as one syllable Tie-lyn).

Faith: Angela is a 14 year member of Faith Ministries Church of Columbus, Oh. It’s an amazing house of worship, and a place where she serves as a Leader in the New Member’s Ministry and the Workshop and Workout (WWF) Ministry.

Fun: Angela is a marathoner, which means she loves to run 26.2 miles and smaller distances for fun. She loves, loves, loves to travel, enjoy working out as well as teaching others how to work-out and definitely spending time with family and friends is a top priority in the area of having fun.

Hailing from the great city of Cleveland, Ohio, Anthony is also proud to call Columbus his second home. Currently, Anthony is the Purchasing Coordinator at Velocys Inc., a research and development company reaching new heights in gas to liquid technology. Prior to joining Velocys, Anthony was the Purchasing Manager at Cleveland Range for several years. A few of his numerous career milestones were:

Strategically sourced high cost and long lead time (10 weeks) brass insert from the United Kingdom to Taiwan and China manufacturers. Resulting in $135,000 in cost savings per year. Improved lead time from the manufacture from 10 weeks to 4 weeks. Increased on time delivery to our customers by 5%. Realized non-value added cost in holding a very tight tolerance on the outside diameter on a plastic knob for a customer in the Outdoor Grilling Industry. Customer spends – $160,000 annually on this knob. Offered the customer a $15,000 in savings by opening up the tolerance and using an 8 cavity mold instead of a 4 cavity mold. Added $145,000 in new sales. Prior to joining the Columbus chapter of NBMBAA, Anthony served as the Membership Chair of the Cleveland chapter until 2012. During his tenure of leadership, Anthony spearheaded various professional networking events which were aimed at recruitment and retention. In addition to being party to winning the prestigious title of Chapter of the Year, Anthony received the Member Appreciation Award in 2009.

Anthony is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Omega chapter, where he last served as chairperson of the Fatherhood Initiative program and Keeper of Records and Seals.

Anthony received his undergraduate degree from Malone College and his graduate degree from The University of Phoenix-Beachwood.

Anthony is a proud father of five and loving husband. His spare time is spent coaching his son’s football team and enjoying time with family.

Vice President of Corporate Outreach

Buffie Patterson was the NBMBAA Columbus Chapter President from 2009 – 2013.

Buffie provides strategic management and operations oversight for Emberig, Geffen, & Ucee, LTD (EGU), a privately held real estate investment management firm and holding company located in Central Ohio. Buffie is President and CEO of East of 23 Properties, LLC, and is a licensed Real Estate Sales Associate in the State of Ohio. Buffie has sold and managed real estate through M3 & Associates Realty for over 10 years. Prior to joining EGU and starting East of 23 Properties, Buffie led the J.P. Morgan Chase Business Banking Operations team, in the capacity of senior vice president and director. The team consisted of a group of process and project managers responsible for the successful execution of the operational processes impacting all Business Banking products and customers. The team worked together to develop, recommend, and implement operational plans and policies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness, improve service, and support long-term strategic business objectives with focus in three key areas: Risk Mitigation and Management, Service Delivery Excellence, and Technical Strategy and Support.

Ms. Patterson began her banking career with National City in 1998 as a section manager for the Columbus lockbox site and held positions of increasing responsibility before relocating to Cleveland to assume leadership for Northern Ohio Item Processing. She continued to expand her responsibility when she was promoted to department manager for Remittance Services in 2004, and division manager for Cash Management Operations, the position she held from 2006 until joining JPMorgan Chase in June 2007.

Prior to joining National City, Ms. Patterson held various management positions on United Parcel Service’s Industrial Engineering team. Her experience also includes Corporate Training, Retail Banking, and Sales.

Buffie currently serves as President of the Columbus Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, on the board of Columbus Housing Partnership, and as a member of the Audit Committee for the Franklin County Clerk of Courts.

While in Cleveland, she served on the board of the Girl Scouts of Lake Erie Council and on the Executive Board of the Cleveland Northeast Ohio Chapter of the National Black MBA Association. She was recognized in Who’s Who in Black Cleveland, and was selected for Kaleidoscope Magazine’s Forty/Forty Club, Class of 2006.

Additionally, she has served as a board member of various organizations including the United Way of Central Ohio Education Vision Council, Prevention Council of Central Ohio, the PCCO/Columbus Board of Health Steering Committee, the United Way EVC Funding Contingency Committee, and the Central Ohio Truancy Initiative. She is a graduate of Project Diversity, Cycle 10.

Ms. Patterson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Franklin University.

Vice President of Leaders of Tomorrow

Villia Davidson is over governance for the NBMBAA Columbus Chapter. Previously she was a mentor and administrator for Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) for the NBMBAA Columbus Chapter. In addition she has been active with LOT’s Case Competition for the past three years and was also active with the NBMBAA Columbus Chapter finance committee and with Franklin University’s coaching team which focuses on helping undergraduates adjust to college life. Prior to being with LOT, she was also co-chair for the Black Data Processor Association high school competition for two years.

Currently she is employed as a performance engineer with JP Morgan Chase (JPMC) for four years. While working at JPMC she was co-chair of BOLD for two years (2009-2011). In her previous positions she has been an IT consultant for Compuware Corporation.

She has a bachelor of science degree from Franklin University in Computer Science and a MBA from Walden University with a concentration in finance.

Kenisha
Kenisha Sanders

Kenisha is the Ohio Communications Director, with Enroll America. EA is the nation’s leading health care enrollment coalition-maximizing the number of Americans who enroll in and retain health coverage under the Affordable Care Act. This involves fostering relationships with news media statewide, including print and broadcast reporters, producers, editors, and bloggers; pitching stories and setting up interviews and sets up press events across the state of Ohio. After working in the health insurance field for nearly 8 years, she launched an PR consulting firm, Lily Lasha providing branding, public relations, event planning and event design for clients. Prior to her current position she held various roles in healthcare and healthcare marketing.

Additionally, she has served as a board member of organizations including Standing Room Only Theatre Company(Public Relations), NBMBAA Columbus Chapter (marketing committee) and The King Arts Complex (marketing committee).

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio she relocated to Columbus in 2008. Kenisha received her bachelor’s degree in Advertising Management and Merchandising from Ohio University and a Masters of Business Administration-Executive Management from Ashland University.

Daphne is employed for over 15 years with Cardinal Health Inc. a global, integrated healthcare services and products company with presence in nearly 60 countries and ranked amongst the top 25 on the Fortune 500.

Daphne has over 16 years of experience in the healthcare industry where her expertise consist of Project Management, Change Management, Operations, Process Improvement, and Strategy & Execution and Influential Leadership experience. Daphne is a Brand Strategy Project Manager and a Certified Blackbelt (Lean Six Sigma), with a focus on the Cardinal Health Brand system implementation and labeling and artwork brand initiatives.

Daphne is currently active as the Membership Co-Chair of the African American Network, Facilitator for the New Hire Employee Orientation, and a Mentor for the Mentor/Mentee within Cardinal Health. She also volunteers her time with Big Brother Big Sister, St. Stephens Community House and Mentoring Africentric Alternative School.

Daphne holds a Dual-Discipline Masters of Science in Marketing and Communication and a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing. She has received her Lean Six Sigma (DFSS) certification and is a Certified Life Coach.

Daphne is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she and her family relocated to Columbus, Ohio in 1998.

Daphne has been married 24 years to her high school sweetheart Kevin Jett and has a 23-year-old son Kevin Jett Jr.

She enjoys impacting and empowering the lives of others through ministry, discipleship, and counseling. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her husband and son, they are her support system, and she am theirs.
